An Introduction to the Cosmic Soup

The needs of the mind ..

There is a purpose behind all that I do, even though much of the time in the moment I cannot see that purpose. I continue to sit here at the word processor and allow the words to come - to take form, the symbol of that which is beyond words.

Fluid Truth - Translations from The Universal Mind

Some of the words Fiona and I write are from our own personal experiences and learnings - the processes we have gone through and the discoveries we have made. Others are translations of the vibration contained in what has been called by some "Universal Consciousness" or "Big Mind". Of these words, we are not the authors - we are merely the translators.

There is very little reference to other authors or authorities in what we write. There are be no words or phrases that have to be attributed to any other individual or school of thought. Yet, within the words and phrases the reader may recognise what has been written before by others. There are only a limited number of ways of expressing "Fluid Truth" within the mathematical permutations and combinations of words.

Authority for truth.

In what I write, as I write from my own experience, I am my own authority.  This is experience is part of a journey through a fluid medium. As at the moment of writing what is written is valid, but even in writing and from the writing there is an evolution. Some words and phrases ("boxes") have to be taken as a symbol or simile to attempt to describe that which is beyond the finite symbol of the definition.

To attempt to describe this work as a "Psychology text" or even a "personal growth manual" is limiting - yet both are correct. Within the field of "Transpersonal Psychology" there are numerous authors who write on a Spectrum of Consciousness, drawing on a "Spirituality" which is both ancient and modern.

Transcending Spiritual Psychology

Transpersonal Psychology, by its very name can have no boundaries or boxes placed upon it. The term is perhaps an attempt to move, to evolve beyond all other forms of Psychological thought concerning the evolution of the Human Psyche. It is a relatively new term - a label for concepts that have been explored within the Philosophies and Mythologies of past and present cultures.

The work we are doing is an attempt to move even further - beyond the so-called "Transpersonal Bands" and yet relate, integrate and transcend all schools of "Hu-man" (Hu = God!) thought and feeling processes.

The Cosmic Soup

To do this, it must be firstly accepted that every thought, philosophy, mythology and spirituality is part of a pool of "Universal Consciousness" or "Big Mind" wherein is recorded (or contained like a great pot of "Cosmic Consciousness Soup") every act or vibration of every aspect of Humanity that has ever been. Beyond that is also recorded every vibration from every ‘energy transmitter’ that has been, is, or will ever be.

As science has shown, everything we can examine contains an energy of vibration. All these vibrations co-exist at the same time. It is to this vibration that everything and every person is linked, whether we (species "Homo Sapiens") like it or not, whether we are aware of it or not.

If we are not aware, we are being unconsciously manipulated by it according to the individual sensitivity or "tuning" of our own individual "radio receivers". If we are aware, then we have the ability to selectively "tune in" to "The Cosmic Soup" to draw from it whatever we need and to reject all unwanted influences and interferences.

Imagine an infinitely large pot of soup that has been around since "the beginning of time". If you can follow the simile of a pot of mixed soup that has been standing for some time, you will notice that the soup has settled. At the bottom of the pot are the lumps, with the contents getting less dense the closer to the surface one rises. Yet, the clear fluid at the top contains the essence, the vitality of all - without the lumps.

And .. yes .. everybody has some connection to this "Cosmic Soup". Everybody is influenced by it in some way or other. Some are aware of this influence - others are not

The Nature of "The Word"

Within the "Universal Consciousness" there is no vibration of ‘words’. Vibration comes from a source far purer than sound, reaching behind, through, above and below the ‘OM’. Sound is the vibration of air, of gas. There is sound beyond human comprehension so pure that you cannot hear it, for the vibration exists, contained unto itself. It is not relayed as an echo, but remains in its original form, potent yet spreading.

These vibrations are there for all who would tune into them. The words tumble forth. Translation is the art is of calming the raging torrent into a smooth stream that reflects the vibration of Love Unconditional that comes from this pool of Greater Consciousness.

It is hard to bring into words the consciousness of vibrations from one dimension to another. As anyone who is bilingual will know, there are concepts that are extremely difficult to translate literally. It is the essence of an idea, of a concept that the translator has sometimes to work with.

It is even more difficult to bring into words that which is not words, that which is not even a thought, as when you think, you think in English. A vibration is a vibration, it is not a thought as an English thought. This is why many of the Great Books are written in parable or as stories.
